Part One: Steven Pressman is a professor of economics at Colorado State U (and has a lengthy, impressive bio). He joins us to talk about his piece at theconversation.com: “New Data Paint an Unpleasant Picture of Poverty in the United States.” Despite high levels of employment, there is also a higher rate of poverty than other developed nations.

Part Two: Governors – a look at some governor’s races, including Scott Walker’s bid to rebrand himself as a centrist. We speak with Governing magazine writers Alan Greenblatt and Lou Jacobson. Lou has a new piece about independent candidates in some gubernatorial races, and Alan wrote about Scott Walker, and other races in the midwest.
