Part 1.
We speak with Scott Braddock, Editor of the Quorum Report, Dean of the Austin Press Corp. about recent events in Texas.
The Texas Supreme Court has ruled that lacking immunity to COVID-19 is no disability, and therefore does not qualify a voter to vote by mail. The next step is to take this issue to federal court. The conflicting messages being sent out by the Texas Secretary of State, and other officials are causing great confusion in voters. The effects of the virus on the budget are also beginning to be felt. This signals a contentious election period in Texas.

Part 2.
We speak with Bill Curry, former advisor to Bill Clinton, writer for Salon.com, and former candidate for Governor of Connecticut.
Bill discusses the 82 day dictatorship of Hungary’s Prime Minister Victor Orban, who has suppressed opposition. Orban has as his advisor Steve Bannon, and has visited Trump in the White House. Many progressives see this as a signal by the Trump administration of intention to do much the same: declare an emergency, suspend civil rights, kill the free press, and rule by decree. In the care of the United States, the “decrees” would likely take the form of executive orders, a favorite tool of Trump. This, along with voter suppression, is a war on democracy.
We also discuss the recent death of George Floyd, who was killed by police while in custody. The outocmes and implications of this will be felt.
