Part One:

We speak with Gary Yohe, Professor of Economics and Environmental Studies at Wesleyan University. He explains how the economic costs of devastating weather events that arise from climate change are much higher than people thought. In addition to the costs of rebuilding people’s homes and businesses, the health costs — especially mental health costs — are rarely even discussed. Yet the victims of environmental trauma — as with any trauma — are often emotionally and psychologically scarred, perhaps forever.

Part Two:

Our guest is Joseph Blasi, Professor of Sociology at Rutgers University. We discuss the idea of businesses sharing profits with their workers. Not only would this make workers happier, but it also benefits the company’s bottom line by increasing efficiency.
