Part 1:
We talk with Ahmet Kuru, of San Diego State University, about the Islamic organization, NU. We discuss the goals: to explain how Islam should be seen, and NU's peaceful approach to interpreting the religion. How should Islam foster democracy? There are 1.5 B Muslims in the world. Part 2: We talk with Mark Joseph Stern, of Slate.com about the Supreme Court's pattern of accepting cases, particularly in the cases around abortion. The Republican party has taken time to whittle away at that right, and seems to be succeeding, state by state, with the collusion of the Supreme Court. We talk particularly about Mississippi, which has an important case pending which may overturn Roe v. Wade.
