Part 1: We talk with Dave Lieber, who writes for the Dallas Morning News, about how judges are selected in Texas. The process is very subject to abuse, because judges are elected, and a candidate may ask the lawyers who appear before him/her for campaign contributions, making this a "pay to play" situation. We also talk about Ross Perot, and the effect he has had on Texas, through his business, his philantrophy, and his effect on the US, as he ran for president. Part 2: We talk with Mel Goodman, former CIA Analyst, and professor at Johns Hopkins University. We discuss the United States approach to Russia, and the propensity to continue the Monroe Doctrine. Prof. Goodman sees an opportunity for a new security architecture in Europe, and it should not be lost to those who are looking for war. NATO should not force additional memberships as a way to threaten Russia, but, instead, should keep to the agreements made previously. ![]()
