Part 1:
We talk about the governor of Virginia, who has changed his approach after being elected as a "parent-friendly" governor. Now, he is upsetting parents by ignoring mask mandates, micromanaging what is taught in schools, and generally proving more radical than he portrayed himself. He is not unifying the state. He appears to be aiming at the presidency. Part 2: Maya Miller reported on the problems with Cancer Alley, the region in Louisiana and Texas where cancers are occurring more frequently than expected. This appears to be due to emissions from treatment plants that use ethylene glycol, which is used in equipment sterilization, but is ubiquitous in other processes. The lax enforcement by Texas has been challenged by the EPA, but much more action is needed.
