Part 1:
We talk with Eric Kulisch, Supply Chain and Air Cargo Editor at FreightWaves.com. We discuss the emerging additional problems with the supply chain, now caused by the pandemic lockdown in Shanghai, China, the largest container port in the world. This is also a hub for manufacturing. The port is now congested because lockdown has been instituted due to Corona. In addition, deliveries to Shanghai are delayed. Worldwide sourcing is a problem now and will be made worse even when lockdown is lifted. Along with the lack of parts, job losses will occur because of US and other countries’ factories idling. Part 2: We talk with Barry Woods, Director of EV Innovation for ReVision Energy, and with Joel Levin, of Plug In America about switching to electric vehicles here in the US and also worldwide. We discuss the history of EV development and deployment. We also discuss new standards for batteries and charging devices. There are concerns about battery supplies, and the raw materials for batteries. What charging locations must be developed, and how should this effort proceed?
