Deadline poet Skip Tenczar delivers:
70% of Republicans think the election was stolen,
And Trumplican leaders tell lies just to embolden,
Those who believe
Their vote’s been aggrieved.
They prey on weak minds ripe for the moldin’.
Part 1: We talk with Neil Young about how Republicans have convinced many people that they have to be armed. The Republicans are now "gun drunk', despite the fact that 81% of Americans want limits on guns. There is a lot of white fear, and an assumption that everyone is carrying a gun.
Part 2: We talk with Harold Meyerson about the other parts of the infrastructure investments: investments in people and support for the population. We need to look at the benefits of this kind of infrastructure. We need to separate "investment deficits" from ordinary deficits.
Neil Young is a historian and writer.
Harold Meyerson is a writer for The American Prospect.
