We started our discussion with comments about Andrew Cuomo, and his current scandal. How should his behavior with respect to women be sanctioned? It seems obvious that he will likely never be president. What other sanctions are appropriate?
Is the current topic a distraction?
The Democrats passed the 1.9T bill to deal with the economic effects of the pandemic. However, the presence of the filibuster is an issue that will be there for HR1. The filibuster in effect negates the rule of the majority. It must be removed, in order for democracy to be strong. Biden needs to be reminded of the Democratic platform he ran on, and to stick to it. This includes the $15/hr minimum wage. This has been a problem, in that the Democrats seem to be retreating on their promises.
