Along with organizing, she is a writer and mother of 2 young children. She started the march because she wanted to create a prolonged action that could demonstrate to ordinary Americans that they are not alone in valuing community and in wanting a better future for their children.
MJ: MJ a co-founder and organizer for the We Are America March who wears many hats. She works overnights in healthcare and helps to coordinate a street medic group based in Philly. When not organizing, she enjoys writing and watching football (go birds!) More than a walk—a people’s movement.
On September 6th regular Americans set out from Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, carrying a copy of the U.S. Constitution on a 160-mile pilgrimage to the steps of Congress. Each day, we’ll invite more neighbors to join — for a rally, a family picnic, a teach-in, a mile, a day, or all the way to Washington.
